The Richland County Sheriffs Department has arrested the person they believe shot and killed two men July 30 on Woodfield Road.
Department spokeswoman Monique Mack would not release the suspect's name because she said investigators are still working the case and releasing the suspects name could hurt their investigation. She said the department has scheduled a 2 p.m. news conference for Monday to provide more information.
Edgar Lopez of Woodfield Road and Pablo Guzman-Gutierrez of Percival Road were shot and killed at about 7:30 p.m. on July 30 on the 1900 block of Woodfield Road.
A group of people, mostly Hispanic, had gathered for a party and were drinking beer in the yard, police said.
At some point, the suspect and Lopez left to get more beer from the Fast Point convenience store at the corner of Faraway and Boundary roads.
