Plans are afoot to improve the health facilities of the Estate fraternity numbering about one million.
Accordingly, the Estate “Suva Sarana” programme has been unveiled. The prime intention is to uplift primary health services. The inauguration of the programme took place at the Namunukula Estate in Passara. About 2500 residents received treatment. Specialist teams joined in providing treatment. There was a mobile laboratory and blood and urine samples were tested in addition to the conduct of HIV tests. Deputy Minister Mahinda Amaraweera was present.
