Minister Maithripala Sirisena has said that measures will be taken to provide nursing appointments for all those who have fulfilled the required qualifications. He revealed this at a function organized to handover appointment letters to hundreds of newly appointed nurses.
The Minister said vacancies for nurses exist in every hospital including the Colombo National Hospital when considering the importance of the profession. The Department Heads have been requesting him to fill the vacancies. Instructions have been given to recruit all the qualified persons face interviews. The Minister opined that they will be trained and appointed in batches.
