The deaths of Nateesha Chapman and her two daughters will be remembered today in a midday march in Charlotte?s uptown.
The Domestic Violence Council will hold the march at 12:15 p.m. at Trade and Tryon streets, in memory of the three most recent victims of domestic violence.
Police say Nateesha Chapman and two daughters ? Na?Jhae Parker, 13, and Nakyiah Chapman, 13 months ? were killed in mid-March by Nateesha?s husband, Kenneth Chapman.
Police went to speak with Kenneth Chapman on Monday night at his apartment off Providence Road, after Nateesha?s uncle called and said he couldn?t reach her. When police arrive, they say, Chapman killed himself.
Inside the apartment, they found the bodies of the two girls. Two other children ran from the apartment, uninjured. One of those children, a 10-year-old girl, had been going to school and trying to act normal for two weeks, detectives say, while her sisters? bodies were locked in a room at the apartment. Police say the 10-year-old was frightened that her father would kill her and her brother.
