President Rajapaksa has said that the era in which the state sector was sacrificed for the requirements of businessmen has come to an end. This is an era in which due place is given for both the public as well as the private sectors.
The President opined that the public sector was sacrificed for the needs of the Private Sector during the last 30 years. This Government deviated from this path for the first time in 2005. The Mahinda Chinthana clearly states that the Public service should be strengthened to build the country. From 2005, the Public Service has been strengthened as never before. He expressed positive sentiments about the present strength of the Public Service. He said that it was accomplished with an ongoing war in the country and the LTTE was eliminated in 3 years.
The President was addressing at the 28th Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service Association. He noted that both Government as well as Public Service should advance together during the development process. Positive results can be achieved when all parties concerned are united. The President stressed that the path of the Mahinda Chinthana Policy is built towards the masses.
