Amateur golfers flock to SC for championship

Thousands of golfers are in South Carolina this week to decide who is the world amateur champion.
More than 3,000 golfers from 48 states and 18 nations are in Myrtle Beach for the GOLF.com World Amateur Handicap Championship. They are playing on more than 55 area golf courses.
Players in six divisions compete in flights according to their handicap. After four rounds, the world championship round is played on Friday.
In the past, players with handicaps as low as 3 and as high as 34 have won the championship. It's the 27th year for the event.
