A rapid growth in visitors to Jaffna from the South is being witnessed following the linking of the North and South with the elimination of terrorism. Groups from the South said they were treated well by the Jaffna civilians.
Sri Lankans received the opportunity of traveling freely from the South to the North and vice-versa with the dawn of peace, following the ending of the war. The people of the South did not get an opportunity to travel to the North for more than two decades. However, they are now visiting areas in the North in large numbers. The number which is visiting Nagadeepa is very high. All facilities required by them are being met by the Defence sectors. Business in the North as a result is also flourishing. Visitors from the South claim that they are being well treated and received by the Northern polity.
