The vice president of the Blythewood High School Touchdown Club was arrested Monday following an investigation into unauthorized use of the club's checking account.
Enola Gay Thornton, 46, was charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent, the Richland County Sheriff's department said.
Thornton, who turned herself in to the sheriff's department, is accused of using more than $3,000 of the club's money between August 6 and August 16, Sheriff Leon Lott said. Lott said Thornton is accused of writing herself unauthorized checks from the club account and cashing them to pay personal debts.
After her arrest, Thornton was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
