Measures are being taken to look into the requirements of the displaced people who are staying with their friends and relatives.
Minister Milroy Fernando undertook the tour in the Maha Oya Divisional Secretariat area in Ampara to inquire about the displaced people who are straying with friends and relatives.
The Minister who participated in a meeting held at the Mangalarama Temple at Maha Oya said that these people will be provided urgent relief. The Government has been unable to provide relief to them as they were not staying in the welfare villages.
They also face the problem of not being able to receive the assistance extended by the Government during resettlement. The Minister said that measures will be taken to minimize their problems. Minister Vinayagamurthy Muralitharan also participated in this occasion.
