Minister Basil Rajapaksa has emphatically stated that no room will be left to hinder the environment under the Gampaha development programme. The Minister was addressing a meeting of the Regional Committee organized in the Negombo Town Hall.
Mr. Rajapaksa pointed out that the Negombo town will occupy a significant place of making Gampaha the most developed district in Sri Lanka. He emphasized at this meeting the need to expeditew work on the Negombo town development programme. It was revealed of the health, drinking water, housing, education, fisheries, power, road and Tourism projects launched in the area. 40 million rupees was allocated for the new bus stand project under the Negombo Town Development Programme. Allocations were also made for other development schemes. Deputy Minister Sarath Gunaratne disclosed that the Bank of Ceylon was prepared to provide loans for Multi Day Fisheries trawlers. Provincial Minister Nimal Lansa made clarifications on the road development projects which are already in place in the area.,
