Sri Lanka did it in style at Dambulla! From the word go, it was a game dominated by the home team which outplayed Indians in every aspect of the game.
Kumar Sangakkara won an important toss in the final and elected to bat on a perfect batting strip. It was that sparkling century by pinch-hitter Tillakaratne Dilshan who laid the foundation for that superb 74-run win for Sri Lanka.
His blistering knock of 110 off 115 balls was a treat to watch. He made the right selection of strokes, punishing Indian bowlers to all corners of the picturesque Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium. His aggressive and attacking style prompted more experienced former captain Mahela Jayawardene, once again promoted in the batting order as opener, to play a second fiddle.
