Agreements have been signed to construct the largest Hotel Complex in Sri Lanka at Kalpitiya. Minister Basil Rajapaksa said that the Government is making attempts not to cause any damage to the bio-diversity and the people in the area due to the construction.
It is being constructed at the expenditure of 1.2 billion rupees. The hotel complex consists of 150 rooms. It will be a Five Star Hotel that would have the required facilities to attract local as well as foreign tourists. The hotel complex is expected to be completed in a short period of 30 months. The agreement in this connection was signed between Minister Basil Rajapaksa and Cube Lanka Institute. Deputy Minister Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, Chairman Tourist Board Nalaka Godahewa were among those present on the occasion.
