Tough Action Against UNP MPs

Sep 3, 2010 10:36:30 PM - thesundayleader.lk

The UNP says the party would take steps to remove members who would vote with the government on the constitutional amendments in parliament next week following a decision arrived at by the Working Committee.

The party is reportedly taking steps to remove four members of parliament who have decided to vote in favor of the constitutional amendments in parliament next week.

UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayaka has been quoted in the media saying that it was decided at last Wednesday’s (1) Working Committee meeting to remove any UNP member who voted with the government.
While the UNP is to initiate disciplinary action against four UNP legislators Abdul Cader, Lakshman Seneviratne, Earl Gunasekara and Manusha Nanayakkara, they are to be removed from the party in the next few days.
