Minister Bandula Gunawardena has said that certain sectors cannot accept that a massive development process is taking place in the country. The Minister was speaking at a function to inaugurate the by-lane named Temple Road at Panagoda which was built under the Gama Neguma project.
The Minister said that 1/3rd of land area has been newly added to the country. Cultivation of potatoes, onions, chillies, grapes and other varieties of fruits and fishing is taking place in this area. This produce reaches the market. Roads and bridges are being constructed. The construction of the Hambantota harbour is taking place. It is 5 times bigger than the Colombo harbour. An airport is being built at Mattala. When international teams will be playing the World Cup at the Suriyaweva cricket stadium it will become a well known name in the international arena. He said that the country is now experiencing change.
