This tale is about a deer which had entered a Vihare to save its life from human beings who were making an untiring effort to take away its life.
A certain group had attempted to kill the deer. They had given chase. The Deer managed to break into the Ashokarama Vihare at Eth-batuwa in Hungama. The Deer hid near the Bodhi of the vihare. Chief Incumbent of the temple the Ven. Deniya Nandasiri thera and a group of villagers later informed wildlife officials at Kalametiya. After providing immediate treatment, it was taken away to the Animal Care Centre at Udawalawe.
