The need of the hour is to build a stable political environment on behalf of the programme mooted by the President to develop the country. The clergy as well as the laity have emphasized that the Constitutional Amendment Bill should be passed to achieve this goal.
Registrar of the Ratnapura District Sasana-rakshaka Mandalaya, the Ven. Konpitiye Sri Susila thera said such a Constitutional Amendment is the need of the hour. It paves the way to build a prosperous nation.
Chief Incumbent of the Siri Dhammarakkitha Dharmayatanaya in Ratnapura, the Ven. Meddegama Vijitha Dhamma thera opined that this leadership in the country should continue. He called up the entire country to work wisely to safeguard the leadership that is required to meet the country’s development targets.
He said other than Mahinda Rajapaksa, not a single leader took into consideration the development of the country. He was of the view that President Rajapaksa should continue to lead the country in the future.
Another person claimed that it was the need of the people to see that the President should continue to lead the country in the future.
