Prime Minister says majority will support amendment

The Prime Minister has said that a majority of Parliamentarians will support the Constitutional Amendment which is necessary to foster unity and usher in development.

The Prime Minister said that Parliamentarians belonging to all political parties should extend their support towards the amendments that are required to steer this country towards development. He said that the President needs to remain in his position for the continuation of the development process. Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratna expressed this view at a function held at the Gampola town to extend support for the proposed amendments. A large number of people including the UNP Parliamentarian Abdul Cader participated in the function held under the patronage of the Prime Minister.
