President says pledges made in Mahinda Chintana will be fulfilled

The President has stressed that all pledges made in the Mahinda Chintana policy will be realized fulfilling the people’s aspirations.

At a meeting with the Maha Sangha in Badulla, the President said that the Government is prepared to win the challenges of development. The President said that the Government has to work earnestly as otherwise it would be meaningless for the people who voted for the party. He said that permanent solutions have to be found for the problems. The path of the Mahinda Chintana policy is clear. The normal practice has been to throw away the policy statement after the election day. He said the Mahinda Chintana policy did not face the same fate. The President has been brought closer to the people and made more responsible towards them by the Mahinda Chintana. He said that it has also been beneficial for the public servants The path of the Government has been made transparent.

Members of the Maha Sangha led by the Chief Incumbents of the temples in the Uva Province met the President at the Uva Provincial Council Auditorium. The President stated that the support of the Maha Sangha is expected in the development battle in order to fulfil the people’s expectations. Meanwhile, members of the legal fraternity and the business community in the Uva Province also met the President in Badulla. While exchanging views with them, the President said that the assistance of all is sought in continuing the development battle. Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva and the Governor of the Uva Province Nanda Matthew also participated on the occasion.
