Anger persists over Lexington median decision

Members of an advisory traffic panel are in trouble with some Town Council members for pressing to overturn cancellation of a median on busy U.S. 378 that traffic experts call vital for safety and less congestion.
The hard feelings prompted Councilman Danny Frazier to suggest Tuesday that some panel members could face ouster for “belligerence and lack of respect.”
Other council members said that threat is premature, suggesting those involved be allowed to try to settle their differences.
“I just cannot believe we’d think about doing that because they disagree with us,” said Councilwoman Hazel Tyndall, the only town leader who opposed dropping the two-block median. “We need to take our time before we do anything.”
