A former Winthrop University employee has been arrested and accused of misusing the South Carolina's school's credit card for more than $200,000.
The Herald of Rock Hill reported that George Robert Walker turned himself in to Winthrop police Wednesday and was charged with two counts of breach of trust over $5,000.
Winthrop Police Chief Frank Zebedis says each count carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
The school says it noticed increased costs in the printing services office. A police report says an audit of the print shop that Walker supervised indicated someone was defrauding the school through PayPal.
The school says Walker resigned when he was questioned.
