Smart Missile

Sep 11, 2010 2:10:11 AM - thesundayleader.lk
  • The ultimate weapon of mass destruction for termites

Life on Earth depends on a very complex set of interactions between different life forms. Examination of the extent to which humans disrupt this arrangement is a relatively recent concern, but one that is rapidly growing. The direct and indirect effects of pesticides on wildlife, waterways and the environment at large may be harmful and are entirely undesirable.
Exterminators takes extra care to minimise the risk to non-target insects and the environment. In achieving this goal, Exterminators has implemented EIPM — Exterminators Integrated Pest Management. Although consumers are concerned about the environment, when selecting a pest control company, a higher percentage of consumers still consider elimination of pests to be more important than the environment.
Exterminators believes that the term ‘CSR’ which means Corporate Social Responsibility should be changed to CSER which means Corporate Social & Environmental Responsibility. Exterminators has taken an initiative by implanting real green pest management techniques to protect planet Earth. “Our Environment Slogan is “Not To Just Reduce Your Carbon Footprint; We Want You To Take It With You.”
This is where Smart Missile comes in. Smart Missile: The Organic Termite Baiting Matrix in recent years has generated more interest, controversy and confusion than baits. For almost 100 years termite treatment was carried out by using liquid barrier treatments. For the most part, such treatments did little to reduce the colonies or population of termites foraging in the vicinity of the structure.
Termite baits utilize a different approach. With baits minuscule amounts of material are deployed in the form of  Smart Missiles to knock out the termite colonies foraging in and around buildings. A termite baiting programme then seeks to maintain a termite free condition through ongoing inspection, monitoring, maintaining and re-baiting if necessary.  Termite baits can be used in various ways, alone or in combination with other forms of treatment. TERMEX will be used for indoor or above ground infestations. The Organic Baiting Matrix is a non-chemical termite baiting and monitoring attractant. The material is 100% organic and environmentally friendly.  Smart Missile + TERMEX not only eliminates the termite colony it also monitors termite re-infestation in your premises. Termite detection equipment will also be used to identify termite infestation within the structure.
The function of smart missile: The function of this product is termite baiting, because when ‘workers’ find food, they often return to the colony to ‘tell’ colony members about the food source. The message “FOOD! THIS WAY!” is delivered through-out the colony. The workers lay down a pheromone trail from the food source to the colony. Other workers ‘smell’ the trail and follow it to the food source. They have been baited, drawn by the bait that’s called Smart Missile.
Termite baits or termicitice …which is better? This is the most common question from homeowners trying to decide which form of treatment to purchase. The question is a difficult one with no simple answer. Factors to consider in the purchasing decision include:
Are you opposed to having your floors and walls drilled, or furnishings moved?
Are you opposed to having pesticides applied in and around your home?
Are there construction features that make it hard to treat with a liquid?
How much are you willing to spend for treatment?
Baiting often is more costly than liquid treatment because the process requires several visits to the structure to monitor for termites, and add or replenish baits.
Exterminators acquired international recognition by receiving the renowned ISO 14001-2004 Environmental Management System from the Sri Lanka Standards Institution and is the only pest control company in Sri Lanka and the third pest management company in South Asia to achieve this standard.
