Modern technology will be used in providing urgent health care. Minister Maithreepala Sirisena made this observation at the inauguration of the E-Health Conference.
The Minister said that IT is important for the development of all sectors including medical science. New inventions are being made daily with regard to medical science including medicines and equipment. He said that all departments including the doctors should spend at least one hour daily studying the facilities provided by IT.
The Conference is being held to look into the potential of modern technology in the delivery of services to the masses in the South Asian Region. Representatives from several countries participated in the conference. The Minister pointed out that increased use of IT can improve healthcare services at a time when it is being used in all sectors.
