Minister Keheliya Rambukwella has emphasized to the US Ambassador in Sri Lanka that the United States had no authority to interfere in Sri Lanka sovereignty.
The meeting between the Minister and US Envoy Patricia Butenis took place in Colombo today. Making clarifications to the media on their talk, the Minister said that they had a cordial meeting. During the meeting he had once again conveyed Sri Lanka’s concerns over the statement made by the US State Department and both parties had discussed the issue in length. The US Ambassador had told the Minister that she had conveyed the statements released by the External Affairs Minister to the US State Department. The Minister added that several other issues including future media activities were also discussed during the meeting.
