The Colombo High Court has ordered to start proceedings in the Hicorp case. Three persons are accused in the case including the former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka.
Colombo High Court Judge Sunil Rajapaksa ordered that the case be taken up on every Friday with effect from the 29th of next month. Summons was issued on the witnesses to be present in Court accepting a request made by the State Counsels. The Attorney General has filed the case with regard to illegal procurement of weapons for the Army through four tenders. The Court also allowed the hearings to proceed in the absence of the main suspect Dannuna Tilakaratne, the son-in-law of Sarath Fonseka.
