The Government is set to strengthen Sri Lanka’s Anti Corruption mechanism including infrastructure facilities to supplement its efforts.
In this regard, the Cabinet has granted approval for the construction of a new five-storeyed building to house the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption at a cost of Rs.155 million on the basis of a proposal made by President Mahinda Rajapaksa. The present building is found inadequate to meet the requirement of the Commission, thus the Cabinet granted approval to build a new one with recommendations to begin constructions on an immediate basis, Mass Media and Communications Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said.
