Sri Lanka’s Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission will continued its public sittings in Kilinochchi today. Many scholars and civilians took the initiative of testifying before the Commission. The Commission which recorded evidence in Colombo last month held public sittings in Kilinochchi yesterday and today. Evidence was recorded at the Karachchi Divisional Secretariat in Kilinochchi. The sittings are held under the patronage of Chairman of the
Commission, former Attorney General C.R. de Silva. Nearly 200 civilians testified before the Commission yesterday. A majority of complaints were about persons who had gone missing during terror period.. The Commission will hold public sittings in Mullaitivu tomorrow, in addition to Kilinochchi. (END)
