DNA Calls For Public Support Safeguard SF’s Rights

Sep 19, 2010 6:23:55 AM - thesundayleader.lk

The Democratic National Alliance (DNA) today (19) called on religious leaders and the public to come forward to protect the rights of former Army Commander and DNA Leader Sarath Fonseka.

Fonseka’s wife, Anoma Fonseka told a press conference today that she did not expect justice for her husband from the President.
She claimed that officers sitting at the Courts Martial against Fonseka have betrayed their uniforms to safeguard their future as they would be harassed if they did not do so.

Anoma said that Fonseka’s detention after the Presidential Election and Court Martials against him were in contravention to international norms.
