The funeral of late T.M. Sanghadasa will take place in Colombo on Tuesday.
He was fulfilling a special mission for the Sinhalese Cinema when he was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital due to a sudden illness last night. He was 68 years of age at the time of demise. He was closely associated with the Sinhala Cinema for several decades and was also the Chairman of the Arts Council of Sri Lanka . He pioneered in preserving the Sinhalese films and music for posterity and was a film enthusiast who worked closely with the media. He has acted in films such as Loku Duva, Yuganthaya and Pooja. He has also contributed for the Tele dramas and stage dramas as an artiste. His remains are currently lying at the Jayaratne funeral parlour in Borella and will be taken to the National Film Corporation at 9.30am tomorrow. His remains will be taken to the Art Gallery at 10.00am on Tuesday. The last rites will take place on Tuesday evening.
