The US is enthusiastically awaiting the arrival of the Head of State who defeated terrorism and steers the country to greater heights.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa will be arriving in New York tomorrow to participate in the General Assembly of the UN. It is for the first time that the President is participating in a UN session after establishing peace in the country. Sources say that the President is amongst the heads of state who are at the center of attention. The President will brief the United Nations on Sri Lanka’s success story in eliminating terrorism and how the consequent challenges were overcome. The President will address the assembly on the first day. Reports say that leading media organizations have already sought interviews with the President. The General Assembly will be held from 23rd September to 30th September.
