Civilians of the Ellupiti area in Mannar who had received liberation from the terrorists returned to their village today after a lapse of 20 years.
These displaced civilians since leaving their villages in 1990 took shelter in surrounding areas in Mannar. The 52 resettled families received dry rations in addition to various other goods.
In the meantime, Minister Milroy Fernando visited Murunkan and Nanattan areas in Mannar to inquire into the problems of the resettled. The Minister drew his attention to facilities provided to these resettled civilians. 25 Sinhala families have been resettled in Murunkan.
