The South Carolina State Ports Authority is investing more than $17 million in a new computerized cargo management system.
The authority announced that its board approved a contract Tuesday with Zebra Enterprise Solutions.
The new system will create a centralized processing center for cargo moves at all of the authority's terminal gates. The system will help the ports reduce processing time and reduce errors while increasing productivity.
The authority plans to begin using the new system early next year.
