The DNA is to carry out a series of protest rallies Europe demanding the release of former Army Commander and DNA Leader Sarath Fonseka and to call for democracy to established in the country.
Fonseka’s daughter Apsara Fonseka is to participate in the protest rallies.
The first rally is scheduled for September 26 in Milano 26, the second rally on October 2 in Paris and the third one on October 3 in Rome.
DNA MPs Arjuna Ranatunga, Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Tiran Alles are to also participate in these rallies.
Chief Prelate of the Malwatte Chapter Ven. Thibbotuwawe Sri Sumangala Thero has reportedly told Fonseka’s wife Anoma that the four Prelates would discuss Fonseka’s plight and advice President Mahinda Rajapaksa on the issue.
DNA General secretary and parliamentarian Vijitha Herath had accompanied Anoma to meet the Prelates today (22).
