Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne has said that to achieve real development, economic growth should take place along with the development of people’s minds.
He said if all people work together devoid of differences, a change will take place in the minds of children which would pave the way for economic development and their spiritual uplift. He said that a country cannot develop culturally devoid of economic development.
He noted that it is necessary for the country to develop economically for it to march forward with the rest of the world. The Prime Minister expressed these views at the inauguration of the ‘De Abhimani Wayamba Udanaya’ exhibition. The exhibition which is being held at the Pannila National School will come to an end tomorrow.
The exhibition consists of stalls that belong to the private sector as well as the army. The Environment Ministry has organized the exhibition on a concept of Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa.
