A protest rally calling for the release of formery Commander and DNA MP Sarath Fonseka and to establish democracy in Sri Lanka was held in Milano, Italy on Sunday (26).
The rally was organized by a group of Sri Lankan expatriates, Movementor Democracy in Sri Lanka, opposite the main railway station in Milano.
DNA MPs Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Arjuna Ranatunga participated in the rally. Along with UNP MPs Dr. Jayalath Jaywardena and Akila Viraj Kariyawasam.
Fonseka’s daughters Apsara and Aparna also participatedd in the rally and Anoma Fonseka joined the rally by addressing the gathering over the telephone.
Several such protest rallies overseas are to be held next week as well.
