The Ministry for Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms has organized a job market. It commences in Vavuniya today.
The job fair is being held for the benefit of the ex-combatants who have successfully completed their rehabilitation program and vocational training. Accordingly over 25 private sector organizations from various fields and industries such as garments and construction would take part in the job fair which will end tomorrow.
The Ex LTTE cadres who surrendered during the final stage of the war in May have been rehabilitated by the Government of Sri Lanka while they were also given vocational training at 12 rehabilitation centers under direct supervision of the government.
Many of the released Ex LTTE carders who underwent rehabilitation have already been provided job opportunities by several State and Government sector industries while the Government expects to release another 418 Ex LTTE combatants ceremoniously parallel to the Job Fair in Vavuniya.
