Minister Dallas Alahapperuma said that the writers too have a special responsibility in preventing a war from occurring in the future.
He said that in the world’s history great literary works have been created after wars. The writers have not only healed the society but paved the way for the future. He said that their initial responsibility is to create harmony in society.
The Minister expressed these sentiments at the launch of several books. The function was organized by the Sinhala , Tamil and Muslim writers’ forum to launch books written in Sinhala and Tamil languages. Ministers S.B. Dissanayake and Douglas Devananda were among those present.
