Cabinet nod for Appropriation Bill

Cabinet approval has been granted for the presentation of the Appropriation Bill 2011 in Parliament, Cabinet Spokesman and Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said.
Addressing the weekly cabinet press briefing held at the Government Information Department Auditorium yesterday, Minister Rambukwella said that accordingly 2011 budget schedule will be presented in Parliament in November.
The first reading of the budget will take place from November 22 to 27. The second reading will take place from November 29 to December 20, subject to discussions and agreement with party leaders.
According to Minister Rambukwella, Cabinet approval has also been granted to present the bill to give effect to the International Convention for the Suppression of Nuclear Terrorism in Parliament, once it is re-gazetted.
The days will be allocated for Parliamentary Select Committees after party leaders’ discussion.
