President Rajapaksa has said he is prepared to rebuild the motherland which was liberated from terrorism through a disciplined society. He underscored that the onus is on the entire nation to direct the child generation towards the correct path on behalf of the future of the motherland liberated from terrorism.
The President noted that terrorism which plagued the country for 30 years has been eliminated and the country united. There is an obligation vested in everyone to exploit the resources, send all children to schools and give them a proper education, while opening the doors of the Universities and higher educational institutes to them. The President reminded that everyone should be totally dedicated towards this task. It is their obligation. A society, which respects and honours the parents and elders should be built. Discipline should be maintained within the country. It is only them that the country and society can be built. The President reminded the gathering that he has not forgotten that the country has been handed over to him to build it and that he would be dedicated towards this task.
The President was addressing the people of the Polonnaruwa District at the Pulathisi Buddhi Mandapaya. He pointed out that the Government has taken initiatives to extend all facilities needed to develop Polonnaruwa which supplied rice to the entire country in the past. Many legislators, including Minister Maithripala Sirisena were present.
