The danger of floods and landslides remains in several areas due to the incessant rains.

The Disaster Management Centre has warned the people to exercise vigilance. Floods have been reported from several areas due to heavy rains. 75 families affected due to landslides at Ukuwela in Matale have been sheltered at the Sri Saarananda Vidyalaya in Guruwela. The school will remain closed for three days under the circumstances. Deputy Minister Nandimithra Ekenayake said that the affected people are being provided relief.

The Irrigation Department office at Nagalagam Street said that the water level of the Kelani river has been increased. It said that the water level exceeding five feet could cause a minor flood.
