The number of people who leave the country for foreign employment has been increased.
The Foreign Employment Bureau has said that an increase of 15 percent was indicated during the first six month of the year. During the period 134,670 persons had left on foreign employment.
Only 117,069 persons have taken up foreign jobs during the corresponding period last year. According to the Bureau Sri Lankans who take up jobs has risen by 54 percent while those who leave for South Korea, Kuwait, UAE, Libya, Bahrain and Malaysia had also soared.
