A 14-year-old high school student returns to a South Carolina court for a hearing on whether he should remain in custody after a shooting at the school last month.
Multiple media outlets reported the hearing in set in Conway on Tuesday. The teen has been held at the Department of Juvenile Justice since the shooting Sept. 21 at Socastee High School. His name has not been released because of his age.
He is charged as a juvenile with attempted murder; possession, threatened or attempted use of weapon of mass destruction; and possession of a destructive device.
Investigators say a shot was fired at the school resource officer and two pipe bombs were found at school. The officer was injured when the bullet hit a wall.
A Family Court judge earlier ordered the teen to have a competency exam.
