Various Opposition parties kicked off an islandwide petition calling for former Army Commander and DNA MP Sarath Fonseka’s release yesterday.
Members of the UNP, JVP and DNA were in attendance, signing the petition in front of Fort Railway station. Fonseka’s wife, Anoma, was also in attendance.
“My husband was the first victim. But tomorrow it could be you or somebody else,” said Anoma Fonseka, urging people to sign the petition. Photos show the launch of the petition.
