Sri Lanka itself is a very popular destination for its beauty specifically in tourism and business environment. The main reasons for Gulf Air to re-commence its operations were customer demand, massive inflow of investments, surge in tourism industry, increasing export market and the country emerging as a key outsourcing centre in the region, Gulf Air CEO, Samer Majali said at a media conference yesterday.
Speaking to Daily News Business Majali said airport facilities at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) are commendable compared to the facilities that were available five years ago. However, it is important that Sri Lanka keep improving its facilities on a continuous basis.
The Government is taking a lot of effort in upgrading country’s infrastructure, which is critical at present with tourists and investments flowing into the country.
Tourists are very time concerned. Access to entire Sri Lanka is necessary therefore, improving the mass transportation systems such as the road network and the railway network should be given priority.
