The European Commission will grant aid amounting to 14 million rupees.
The funds will be used to providing relief for the people being resettled. The Government has been able to carryout the resettlement process successfully. Kristalina Georgiva, Commissioner for International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis said that the funds were being granted taking into consideration the progress made by the Government. The finances will be used for improving housing, common amenities and sanitation. Special projects will be launched for the benefit of the resettled people. Special consideration is being given for households with female heads and disabled children.
