All households in the island are being checked for mosquito breeding grounds today on the third day of the National Dengue Eradication Week.
13,511 places were checked yesterday on the 2nd day of the National Dengue Eradication Week, including pre-schools and temples. 8,118 locations out of them were identified as mosquito breeding places. The Health Ministry reports indicate that mosquito larvae were found in 1 thousand 945 places. Summons have been issued on the responsible persons with regard to 922 such locations, while the others were strictly warned. The Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces have been identified as areas with the highest risk.
