17 Billion Rupees to develop Batticaloa

17 billion rupees has been allocated for development work in Batticaloa. 70 percent of the projects have already been completed.

15.319 billion rupees will comprise foreign aid. The Ministry allocation is 750 million. 243 million rupees is set aside under the Gama Neguma project while 25 million rupees will come from allocations of District Parliamentarians. 2,857 projects are being implemented in the District. 70 percent of the work has already been completed.

This information was revealed at the progress review meeting of the development projects in Batticaloa. Deputy Ministers Vinayagamurthi Muralidharan and M.L.A.M Hisbulla, Eastern Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, TNA Parliamentarians and Government officials were present.
