Online complaints to Police from next week

The Police Department has introduced an online system for the public to lodge complaints through an e-mail. Launching the website, the Police Chief said their target was a people’s friendly Police

IGP Mahinda Balasuriya said that the public can directly lodge their complaints to the Inspector General of Police Mahinda Balasuriya. IGP Balasuriya said the public can also inform him about area problems and delaying of inquiries at police stations. He has vowed to take action within two weeks. The new column has been introduced with the intention of providing a more efficient and people friendly service, while making the Police service more productive. It is expected that the Police will develop a better rapport with e-programmes of this nature.

E-mail address for complaints telligp@police.lk can be logged through the official police website www.police.lk. It will commence operations from the 18th of this month.Sri Lankans abroad can also used this facility. Complaints and proposals can be made in the Sinhala, Tamil or English Languages.
