White Flag case continues

Oct 13, 2010 10:58:43 AM - itnnews.lk

Deputy Solicitor General has challenged Attorneys appearing on behalf of the prosecution as to why they were requesting an inquiry if the book containing notes of the Sunday Leader Editor’s interview is a fake.

Deputy Solicitor General Wasantha Navaratne Bandara made this challenge, in response to a query on the pages of the note book, when the hearings of the White Flag case resumed today. The Deputy Solicitor General queried as to why the lawyers of the prosecution were not calling for an inquiry through the Government Analyst if they had any doubts about the note book. By not doing so, he said it seemed that there is no foundation for the accusations leveled by them. Responding to a query raised by the lawyers of the prosecution that the Editorial Board’s policy was betrayed for a sum of one million rupees during the Presidential election period, Fredrica Jansz said she was totally rejecting all these allegations. Further hearing was postponed for tomorrow.
