Lexington County Sheriff's investigators believe a Lexington man was shot and killed as part of a planned robbery, and two men are in the Lexington County Detention Center charged with murder.
William L. Calhoun, 20, of Founders Road, was fatally shot in the chest around 10:30 p.m. Saturday as he sat in his parked car on Calks Ferry Road near Lexington, the sheriff's department said.
Arrested in the shooting Wednesday were Michael Devoughn Ingle Jr., 21, of Cheryse Drive, and Duffy Tao McDowell Jr., 21, of Longspur Lane, both in Lexington.
Investigators accuse Ingle and McDowell of arranging for Calhoun to meet them near Ingle's home as part of a plan to rob him of marijuana and money, the department said.
Calhoun was shot once in the chest with a .45-caliber gun as he sat in his Ford Mustang.
