Chief Minister of the Western Province Prasanna Ranatunga has said that the Provincial Councils should no longer wait for finances from the Central Government.
The Chief Minister said they are holding discussions with othr countries to invite investors to Sri Lanka and make a contribution towards the development work of the Government.
The Minister made this observation at a media briefing held to raise awareness about the future projects of the Western Provincial Council. The Minister said that a decision has to be made regarding the Provincial Council institutions that do not work for the welfare of the people. Provincial Council Ministers were amongst those who participated in the occasion.
